No nudes. If you submit nudes they will not be juried and you will not get a refund. All work must be related to the theme The Art of Tea. No work previously displayed in an Art League of Baytown (ALB) show will be accepted. All work must be original in concept and design. No patterns, kits or molds may be used not created by the artist. Absolutely no prints of original work will be accepted (original photography and graphic art is, of course, the exception to this).
All work must be installation ready. 2D work should be equipped with a wire type hanger that does not show above the work. Sawtooth hangers will not be accepted. Maximum dimension of 2D work is 36” on the long side. If the work is framed this includes the dimension of the frame.
3D hanging art should weigh no more that 15 pounds. 3D free standing art must be no greater that 70 inches at its longest dimension and weigh no more that 75 pounds.
All accepted work must be for sale. The Art League of Baytown receives a 30% commission on all sales. Please keep this in mind when pricing your work. If your work sells we will happily send you a check minus the commission fee.
Delivery and return of images to and from ALB is the responsibility of the artist, including insurance. Shipped work must include prepaid return shipping upon arrival to the ALB gallery. We will not pay return shipping for anyone. Any artwork that is shipped to the gallery without a prepaid return shipping label will not be accepted into the show until the return shipping label is in our possession. Shipping and delivery details will be provided with notice of acceptance.
If the artist hand delivers their work to the ALB gallery it must be picked up within 20 days of the show closing date. Artwork remaining at ALB 60 days after the exhibit closes will be considered abandoned and become the become the property of The Art League of Baytown.
ALB cannot be responsible for damage or loss during transit. ALB will not be responsible for normal wear and tear during the exhibition such as minor nicks to frames or scratches to acrylic covers. We are artists too and will always treat your work as we would want someone to treat our own.
The Art League of Baytown expects all accepted work to be presented at a professional level. ALB reserves the right to decide what presentation is appropriate for this exhibition and reserves the right to reject any work that does not meet our standards.
USAGE RIGHTS: Each artist retains all copyrights to their work. Artists whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant the Art League of Baytown the right to use their images for the purpose of promoting the artist, promoting ALB’s programs, promoting exhibitions and subsequent display on ALB’s website for current and future exhibitions and represents that the artist created the artwork and has the right to make this grant of use. Promotions and images may also be placed on social networks for the Art League of Baytown with artist credit. Artists grant use of their image(s) as stated without further contact or compensation from ALB.
WAIVER: The Art League of Baytown bears no responsibility to insure the works on premises nor in transit. Submission by the artist to this exhibition implicitly releases the Art League of Baytown and each of its respective trustees, officers, agents and employees from any loss, liability, damages, claims, demands, expenses or costs arising directly or indirectly from the loan of the artwork to the ALB gallery under this agreement.
